Hi,
I got tested positive for Covid today and my GMAT exam is day after tomorrow. If I reschedule now, the charge is around $120. Is there any specific policy where there is no charge for rescheduling my exam because of Covid. Please provide your thoughts.

When you communicate try to see if you can provide some sort of evidence of the positive result. It may quicken the process.

Sorry about the issue and Covid. I can understand calling the customer service and waiting on the phone for a long time only to be told that tough luck is annoying.

I don’t think there’s any kind of a medical excuse policy including Covid so this will be your best effort opportunity and maybe it will work out but I’m not aware of any medical excuse options.

PS. Please let us know if you manage to get a reduction or waiver for the fee.

Interesting enough, for India, it says that they measure the temperature of the test center and you measure higher than 37.5 you’ll be able to retake the test without a rescheduling fee.… so I think your opportunities and chances are rising 👍

COVID test results may assist. Please approach the GMAC through mail mentioning about COVID..They may provide a waiver against the Reschedule fees.

I mailed them yesterday but there was no response. So I called them today and then they raised a ticket against my issue.

Hi nithyaa123,

What was the outcome of all of this?

Today I called the customer support and they've raised a ticket against my issue. They told it might take 3-5business days to validate my medical report. So I'll have to wait till they respond to my mail.
Will give an update once I get the outcome.

Will definitely give an update about the process once the team responds to my mail. Thank you for your inputs.
Also, I didn't wanna rely on the measures that Pearson stated on its website regarding the temperature because I don't have fever but I do have all other symptoms.

If possible, make sure your body is in peak condition before you take this 3-hour exam. Perhaps take an Official Mock before you confirm your date.

Hi,

Today I got the response from Pearson team that they have accepted my reschedule request under emergency case.
PS: There is no reschedule cost.

The process was simple, I called the customer service (got the contact number from mba.com) and explained my situation that I got tested positive for Covid. The team raised a ticket against it and told me to send the medical evidence i.e. RTPCR report through mail. They told me to wait for 3-5 business days to review my request. After three business days I gave them a follow-up call to check the status of my request and 10-12hours after the follow up call I received the response that they have approved my request.

Glad it all worked out. All the best with your next attempt. A quick tip would be to make sure you are recovered before taking the 3 hour exam. Perhaps take an Official Mock half a week before your exam to see how you physically feel.
