Hi everyone, I'm reaching out for some advice from experts. I'm gearing up for my first GMAT exam on Monday. I've already taken two mock tests for the classic GMAT, but my scores were quite low, so I decided to take a break from studying for a month and focus on my university exams in the meantime. Three weeks ago, I started studying for the focus edition, and two days ago, I took the first focus edition mock test, followed by another today. Here are the scores and percentages for each simulation:
1) Classic: 390 (I struggled with time management and didn't answer the last 12 questions in the verbal section, so it's not very indicative) Quant 16th and Verbal 4th
2) Classic: 500, 17th quant and 35% verbal
1) Focus 13 Mar : 515, 40th quant, 33rd verbal, and 39th data insights
2) Focus 15 Mar: 515, 14th quant, 79th verbal, and 51st data (I managed time poorly and answered the last 7 quant questions randomly)
I took these two mocks two days apart, and while the overall score is the same, the scores in different sections are VERY different. I used a different approach, didn't focus on details, and aimed to be faster. Here are the statistics for the two focus mock simulations. I don't understand how there can be such different results.
1 FOCUS
- quant: sets 62, equal 35, rates 21, value 43
- verbal: cr 75, rc 50
- di: ds 71, graph and table 33, two part analysis 22, multi sorce reasoning 40
2 focus
Quant: counting sets 54, equal 3, rates 3, value 6
Verbal: cr 50, rc 95
Di: ds 15, graphs 75, 2 part 100, multisource 22
I aim to achieve a score of 600/650 on the classic GMAT, so a score of 565/600 would be acceptable, I believe. I was planning to book the test for Thursday instead Monday and try to review the quantitative section and do the third and fourth mock texts. What do you advise? Do you know of any other similar cases where scores are so different? It seems like the same test wasn't taken by the same people.
Thank you all in advance for your help
