Hi there folks!
So Indian grad schools offer a 10 point CGPA with which I'll be applying to American and European schools soon.
By definition, an American 4 point GPA is (Your Grades/Valedictorian Grades) * 4. So American GPAs are relative while Indian is absolute.
Many sites suggest converting CGPA to GPA by simply dividing by 2.5.
This simply isn't efficient for me as my batch topper received a 8.8CGPA.
I want to add a more attractive number to my CV, as such, I was wondering if I could ask the department of my University to provide the topper CGPA in writing as a form of affidavit perhaps. Would this help convince adcoms that I was in the top 3% of the class instead of just blatantly writing it on my CV?
This is rather important as I will be applying for an MiM, in which grades are considered more heavily than workex. Coming from the Indian applicant pool, with many applicants sending a 9+ CGPA, I don't want it to be the case that my application looks comparatively weaker in such a set.
Should I submit my CGPA as is? Should I convert it to American GPA and to ECTS credits fro respective applications? (Also, how)?
