Hi Nipunh,

Unfortunatly, what you are asking for will be difficult to provide. That said, have you been taking practice tests? What have been your score breakdowns?

Hi Scott,
Hope you are doing well!

These are the scores of my gmat club sectionals... I want to understand the difficulty wise questions in a test in order to understand 2 things. First are these gmat clubs scores representative of a trend in my abilty? Is this even a decent enough yard stick?

Second, and the major reason why I wrote this post, in my high scores on QA (including Q90's) I rarely saw hard difficulty marked questions.... (like not even 5 hard questions) Which was kinda shocking... The tests had tricky easy and medium questions though... I also felt like if one is doing well in the test ... the last questions (the tail per say) brings the easy questions up... One of my hypothesis is the algo wants to create a percentile difference afterall, getting an easy ques wrong does more harm to the score.. (right?) + the algo severely punishes if you aren't thorough with the time management aspect of things.... So a student like me who is unable to attend the last few questions on va/di at the end succumbs to a cap as I have to guess in the last 3-5 questions... in which there ussualy is at least 1 easy question (if not most). Which really crushes the score. What are your and other experts thought on this? Happy to be told that I am overthinking here haha :)

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Nipunh,

You may be overthinking, but you're also concerned about something that is definitely very important: time management. Have you thought about letting go of some questions in the middle so that you don't have to rush/guess towards the end in verbal?

For VA, I try to be fast about things, a rule I try to stick to... no question is worth more than 3.5 mins... If I am able to get it in that time frame great! if not... I have the rest of the test to focus. I dont leave questions blanks in VA, but I do guess a few. With this strategy, I am able to get to the 21 st ques in VA and have to guess the rest (with 10 seconds left). With this my accuracy does fall and overall I have 5-6 questions incorrect on a good day and a V83 :') What can I do better?

You may be overthinking to a degree, but do you think the issue is actually that you overspend on just a handful of verbal questions, and that is what is messing up your timing?
