Hi Everyone,I recently took the GMAT Focus Edition and scored 67 in Quant, which is in the 7th percentile. However, I answered 15 out of 21 questions correctly, and I am struggling to understand why my score is so low despite this accuracy.Could it be due to the adaptive scoring system or the difficulty level of the questions I answered correctly? I’m also curious about how much the early questions or unscored experimental questions might have impacted my performance. If anyone has insights or has faced a similar situation, I would greatly appreciate your input! Thanks in advance for your help! There are two main reasons why your score is low:
1. You left one question unanswered. That's a big penalty. Even if you had just taken a random guess on it, your score would have been better.
2. You got the first question wrong after which you likely got some easier questions and unfortunately, you got 2 of them wrong too (No 3 and no 5). I am guessing that after that you didn't really get many hard questions. You did take extra time on a couple of questions but was it during review to double check? Did you struggle in later questions to understand what is being asked? As in, did you feel you were facing hard questions as per your perspective? Most people performing well do face some really challenging questions i.e. small ups and downs are expected during the test. If it seems that the test is going way too smoothly, you perhaps missed some easy questions.
