Academics:
Bachelors in Technology (Computer Engineering) from a top college in India - GPA 6.8/10 (%age conversion as per college guidelines 61.2%)
Work Experience:
IMS Health Consulting - September 2012 to Present
Work in the role of Associate Consultant primarily in healthcare analytics and consulting. Lead of team for outsourcing of Switzerland consulting projects to India. Have traveled to Europe for setting up processes for my team and executing some complex projects.
ZS Associates - Jun 2010 to March 2012
Worked in the role of Business Associate primarily in healthcare analytics and consulting. Have worked on wide domain of healthcare projects ranging from segmentation & targeting, call planning, forecasting, impact analysis to pipeline analysis and tracking new product launches. Was brand owner and lead for tracking a new product of the company in a major market for Top 10 pharmaceutical firm, providing analysis and suggestions on optimizing call plan for reps and tracking physician movements in product prescriptions in the initial stages.
Accenture Services Pvt. Ltd. - September 2009 to May 2010
Worked in the software development domain with Accenture for a short time. I shifted from Accenture after just 8 months, as I wanted to move into management consulting industry.
Extracurricular:
I used to play in a band during college days. Have performed at various local cultural fests. Have actively participated in dramatics club as well.
Chief Editor of a self-sustained college magazine. We used to seek out sponsorship for the magazine from various sources, and the magazine was distributed quarterly free of cost to around 1000 students across the college.
Actively played a part in organizing relief funds in my current organization for a natural calamity, organizing blood donation banks and various cultural events in office.
Target Programs:
Priority: Booth, Tuck
Fallback Options: Duke, Darden, Rotman
Kellog was in my priority list, but I had to let it go as there is no co-signer program available.
I am planning to apply in 2013-14 R2. I decided on doing an MBA pretty late and, hence, missed out on R1 applications.
Post MBA Goals:
I want to move into strategy consulting. I have worked in healthcare consulting/analytics for close to 4 years now, and absolutely love this industry. I would preferably love to continue in healthcare consulting industry but move from the present – more data intensive analytics role – to a more strategic consulting role.
Your advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey there Yuvraj,
You have some great stuff here man! Like... ummmm... your GMAT...
But also your international work, your consulting experience, and your healthcare industry. All of these are not only good, but will help you stand out. I assume that since you didn't write which school you went to, that even if it is good its not IIT right? That and your UG grades are your two negative points that I can see.
I think that even with your strengths, you are maybe a wee bit optimistic on your school list. For example I don't know that Duke is really a "fallback" option. More likely you'd be competitive there, and your first two choices would be closer to stretches (but yes, by all means apply there!)
If you had more time, I'd suggest more schools, but I think for now, five will be challenge enough!
Your goals make total sense, but emphasize your desire to continue in your field, as you mentioned... it will make the whole thing more logical and powerful.
Other than that, looks gooooooooooood.

Thanks for the honest feedback. To be frank, I do realize that both Booth and Tuck will be stretches for me especially in the second round, but the problem with me is that I am overly optimistic and enthusiastic , so I want to give the colleges my best shot.
Are you a mind reader or what (kidding
). Indeed, I am not from an IIT. I graduated from an NIT.
