I took the GMAT three times. I scored 640, 640, then a 680.
The second time I was not performing at my peak. The third time, I know I could have done better on verbal but I scored higher than expected on quant.
Here's the breakdown of the 680
Q: 49 (81st percentile)
V: 34 (70th percentile)
IR: 8 (93rd percentile)
AWA: 6 (91st percentile)
I am a US based male applicant and this is the score I plan to apply with. I am aiming for Northwestern and Cornell, and I'm thinking about retaking only if placed on the waitlist. Would getting a 700/710 make a big difference for my application compared to my current 680?
There is quite a big difference between a 680 and a 710. They are only 30 points away, but they are scores of another order. So if you think you can get that score, and you need to retake the test, do it, dude, cause it will help a lot!
