Hey Jon ,
I am right now in a dilemma. would love to know your opinion on it . I was planning on doing a msc.finance and then doing an mba (like when i hit 29ish) . anywho , a friend of mine told that adcoms hate msc.finance guys or people with research oriented degrees .
So that has put me in a conflict . I was hoping a msc.finance form the top university would potentially hide my low gpa and terrible academic performance and a msc.finance would also open doors in investment banking and pe for me .
oh , yea and the msc.finance is prolly in another country , so which would also be a plus point as i can show it as an international experience .

Hey there,
Okay, I don't know who told you this, but it's basically not true. An MSc would probably be GREAT for opening doors to you in finance (although will not really help out your low GPA thaaaaaat much, although yes, you do need to perform well). I mean, technical knowledge is a premium and a fantastic way to break into an industry. Finance is no different. Plus if you go to another country to study, you will likely have some job opportunities there as well.
