Hi Jon

Thanks a lot for the honest and frank review. What you advised is pretty much what i feared.
I knew finance was a long shot . But what you suggested is also what i had initially on my mind. To capitalize on my experience on IT and pursue a bigger role in IT management. So i have two questions

1. What programs or schools would be achievable? I am open to U.S and Europe
2. If i increase my GMAT score to 700+ ...will it make any difference. I was not doing good in GMAT ..so i gave GRE on which i scored 327 ..does it count

Thanks again for taking a look and for your valuable suggestions

Hey there,
Well it's cool that you are keeping an open mind about this, because I believe you can find the right programs for yourself within the scope of what is possible.

So first of all an increased in GMAT will help a lot, always. The question is whether it is worth the time and whether you can hit that higher score, and how much work it would take - in your case this issue is more complex because you don't really want to wait another year, if it's possible to avoid it. Buuut from looking at your GRE, it seems like that score is much better! I don't know your breakdown - but the best would be to plug in your score here: https://www.ets.org/gre/institutions/ab ... rison_tool and see what you get.

So maybe you don't need to take the GMAT again???
:)

I think that even with a 700 GMAT equivalent (which should be about what you have) US schools will be a bit more tough than European ones given your age - but you can and should try some that fit you. Maybe schools like Austin, Cambridge, HEC, USC, for example?

You should also make sure you have a decent amount of "Safe schools" in your school list given your age, and we can think further about what schools might fit - but basically in the US assuming a 700 GMAT from 20 and under, and in Europe outside the Top 10 (some Canadian and Asian schools might also fit you if you are open to considering them)
Aall the best,
Jon
