Motivation for pursuing MBA: Career shift from Technology to Finance.
GMAT: 700 ( Q50 V35 ) IR 5
Undergrad:
University of Pune,India 3.65 Major: Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
Grad:
University of Pennsylvania, 3.34 Major: Telecommunications and Computer Networking. 3 graduate level courses in Finance from Wharton School: Corporate Fin, Financial Accounting and Adv. Corp. Fin ( This is one of the primary reasons why I became interested in Finance and decided to pursue career in I-banking)
Work Ex:
Worked for 1 year at Accenture in Mumbai as a Software engineer. Currently work with Akamai (Global leader in Content Delivery Network) with a little over 1.5 years experience.
Most experience is in technology consulting, CDN
Will have 3.5 years of experience at matriculation
Extra Curricular:
Member of student clubs in University of Pennsylvania - Engineering Masters Advisory Board and Electrical and Systems Engineering Graduate Association.
Member of Organizing Committee of national level robotics event at University of Pune.
Career Goals:
Want to work in Investment Banking at bulge bracket banks in TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications) division. I have decided on this goal because of my experience in Technology sector coupled with foundation knowledge of finance. Hopefully this should make a convincing story to Admission committee.
Schools:
R2: Wharton, Chicago Booth, NYU Stern, Kellog
Additional:
I hail from small town in India. I have worked my way up to earn master's degree from prestigious school in the United States and get a respectable job at leading company in my field of interest. I have shown leadership skills in my current job which are highly appreciated by my supervisor. I am very result oriented, matured and go getter type of person: these are some things which I am going to highlight on in my essays.
Any suggestions to add/remove schools or how to better round out my candidacy would be greatly appreciated!!

Sooo, I don't know how realistic your target schools are. First red flag for me is that your GMAT is about 20 points below the average of most of these schools and the majority of Indian candidates are getting in with scores ABOVE the average of the school (it's cause you guys are so fantastic at test-taking and sooo hard-working).
That having been said, your GMAT is very good... but more for schools in the 10-25 range. Otherwise, you have good employers, come from a quite good university, with a very good GPA. So no major weaknesses here.
But what ELSE do you have? I ask because of the toughness (I'm sure you know about this) of your profile.. Indian/Tech/Male... sooooo what makes you UNIQUE????? What makes you DIFFERENT? The story of you being the first to go to college is very nice, but as you can imagine, one shared by not a few of your compatriots. so dig deep there to find something.

Yes, I agree with you regarding your comments about GMAT. I am retaking GMAT and aiming for 740+.
International experience, leadership skills at work ( with strong recommendation from my supervisor to support my claim) and clarity about my future goals ( with background to what shaped my shot/long term goals) are probably my strongholds. I agree with you that few, maybe many, will have one of these strongholds too. But I would like to take my chances.
I know Wharton, booth and kellogg are very ambitious. But can you comment on where does Stern fit for my profile (Very Ambitious, Ambitious, Moderate, Safe) please?
