Hi,
I would really appreciate if you could evaluate my profile below:
1. Background info
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Nationality: Indian
2. Education background
Undergrad Major: Mechanical Engineering from an average college in India
GPA: 7.16/10 (Not sure how to convert it to a scale of 4)
GMAT: 700 (Q50, V34, AWA5)
3. Work Experience
I have a total of 7 years of work experience. 3 of those years were working in the business planning department of a Japanese automotive company. Then I made a career shift to join the non-profit sector. I have 4 years of experience in working in the social enterprise space (where I am currently working).
Major professional highlights:
1. Incubated a business unit which has been hived-off into a for-profit company.
2. Developed a business model that had provided safe drinking water to 50,000 households so far. Now other organizations in South Asia want to replicate the model in their country
3. Got selected as one of the five social enterprise under Yale School of Management's Programme on Social Enterprise and worked closely with the Yale student team on a project.
Recommendations:
1. The CEO of my company who is also my immediate supervisor.
2. The ex country head of Swiss Development Corporation who was our client in the project highlighted above.
Extra curricular:
1. Grade 2 certification in Guitar from Trinity School of Music, London
Nothing major to report other than that
Post MBA goals:
To continue in the non-profit sector and engage with the private sector to develop solutions to alleviate poverty
Schools:
1. Yale School of Management (Dream school)
2. Fuqua School of Business
3. Indian School of Business
4. Columbia Business School
5. Stern Business School - NYU
These schools have an excellent non-profit programme and also offer tuition waiver if I re-join the non-profit sector. This condition is mandatory for me as I can't afford student loans on my low post-MBA salary.
Questions:
1. How is my list of schools? Is it too ambitious?
2. What schools would you recommend that would better fit my profile and increase my chances of getting accepted?
Thank in advance for your help.
