Thanks Jon ,
Read your post . Agree Indians are expected to score higher , but I dont have much time to retake the exam as I am desperate to join MBA in 2015 and nearing deadlines .
I am just counting on my profile /gender to work for me .
Just a general questin , Do adcoms read our essays in other words is there any filtering based on GMAT score at the initial stage itself that doesnot allow further chance of getting evaluated.

Hey,
Well to answer your question, I think that with your schools and profile, you can go ahead and apply. It'll make things harder, but your GMAT is not unreasonable either... And yes, they will read your essays, (I mean unless you were trying to apply to Stanford with a 500 ;) ). I mean, sure your GMAT is lower than average, but since you are in a rush, then just take your shot.

One thought for you: Don't be desperate to go anywhere. Make your best app, apply to your schools. If it doesn't work out, think about what and how you can do better and make it happen!
:)

Best,
Jon
