Hi all,
Right now I have two offers and I need to decide which one is better for me to get a higher chance of MBA admission.
Background: female, Asian, Hongkong, gpa <3 from university of Toronto, majored in electrical engineering (rank 60/200)
WE: 2 yr program analyst in AMD in Canada, 1 yr market research experience in China (a small firm)
GMAT: 720
Aim for: Insead/Ivey/oxford in 2 yrs
Post MBA career goal: consulting firms, then family business (a small firm provides data services for telecommunication companies like china telecom)
Other: community work, lots of business development work for family business
Right now, the 2 offers I have are research analyst from BCG and junior consultant from Detecon, a consultancy under T-mobile. My friends who work as consultants all told me a big name (BCG) will look better in my resume than a non-famous one, but I doubt in can learn a lot from doing researching... Besides, I can leverage my telecom business development experience in detecon. Therefore, really appreciate ur help and advice!

Hey there!
Well your friends are right in the sense that working for a firm like BCG and having that on your resume is very very helpful. That's not to say that T-mobile is bad...
But actually I think you should take heavily into consideration rather what you WANT to do. Just as important as your firm if your advancement, your leadership, the opportunities you will have and how well you will do. You certainly don't want to get "stuck" for two years doing something you don't want to do, just because some people told you it was better for your MBA. The MBA, I feel, should be only one consideration amongst many when you consider a job.
