1) 3 Years Experience - Work for a major automotive company. Started as an analyst (data analysis and manipulation, high proficiency with excel), now the youngest District Sales Manager in the company (Help dealers grow sales and profitability, work regularly with Dealership Owners on financial statement analysis, process analysis, etc).
2) Gmat - 700 - 5.5 awa 7 ir Q44 (58%) V41 (94%)
3) College - California Polytech. University, Pomona, 3.9, Business Management. As in Calculus, Statistics, Algebra, Accounting, and Finance.
4) Leadership - In several organization in college in key positions, Fraternity, Greek Council, Management Majors Club etc. Selected by company to attend future leaders conference 2 employees from each affiliate around the world selected.
5) No special certifications
6) Target Schools - HBS, Columbia, UCLA, USC, Booth, Darden.
7) Application Round - R1 2015-2016
8) Post MBA Goals - Return to my current company or a competitor and work towards becoming a Director or VP of Sales/Operations.

Hey dude,
Allright so let's dig in and have a look at the strengths and weaknesses of your profile:
Strengths:
- 3.9 GPA!!! (you get bonus points if you were the valedictorian or something like that.
- Leadership in extra curricula activities - although I don't have yet a clear idea of what you did here (I'd need more detail)
Weaknesses:
- Not a brand name Uni
- Job profile is not one of the preferred for Top 10 schools.
Unknowns/Neutrals:
- Your GMAT is very good, but low for Top 10.
- Volunteer work?
If you really want to aim in the top 10, you should consider retaking the GMAT. I mean, you are within a standard deviation more or less for top 10 schools, but the averages are now north of 720, and with a non-brand school, unless you have some superb ace up your sleeve, without a really competitive GMAT things will get a bit rough there.
I also have one question for you - when you say you intend to return to your employer - do they support your MBA? Will they financially support you? Will you return tot he company with a guaranteed promotion? (I ask because any of these can help you out)

I forgot to mention I'm involved in some volunteer programs. Reading to children, getting children to be active etc. My company does support my MBA aspirations and would give me a promotion with a salary increase upon my return.
I did perform well below what I was getting on practice in quant, should of scored a 46/47 which would put me at around 720. Do you think this is such a difference maker that I should go through the process of studying for this again? If I am looking at top 10-25 schools, how competitive is the 700?
