I gave the GMAT(first attempt) last year,and scored a 680(Quant - 49, Verbal - 33).
I am planning to apply for MBA classes starting in fall 2016.
My profile reads as follows:
GMAT 680
work ex : 28 months (Software Developer) [started working in March 2013]
Graduation : B.Tech(College Topper) - 77.7%
12th : 79.2%
10th : 80.8
Indian Female (Age 24)
I planned to apply to to some colleges last year itself, but due to less work experience, dropped the idea for a year. And now I would really like to join some college starting fall 2016.
In past one year, I have really grown as an individual in my team, got an opportunity to lead a team of 5-6 people for a new project, and we managed a successful release in a very short period of time. Got a lot of appreciation from my Managers and Client for the same. Also got an onsite opportunity of two months, travelling to Zurich for the same in August.
Could not retake the GMAT because got super busy with this project. So will have to apply with a 680. No other choice.
I plan to do an MBA in finance. There are some colleges which I have shortlisted : ISB, INSEAD, UCLA, CMU and NUS.
I would really like you to evaluate my profile and suggest me some good colleges as per my profile. Do you think ISB and INSEAD are way too far for my reach?

Hey Srishti,
Good to hear from you. The major strengths of your profile is the fact that you are female candidate with leadership experience and experience abroad, but also I want to be straight up and direct with you, so let me start ff by saying that your school list is likely on the tough side. As an Indian IT person not from IIT/NIT, you come from one of the toughest application pools out there.
Having goals in finance won't help either (the proposition of going to finance from IT is the default proposition of almost every Indian IT candidate and is not seen as plausible or desirable necessarily by employers and hence not by schools) unless you have some experience in finance. Otherwise I would suggest you stick with IT (like moving up to management) which is a story that, given your vast experience will work a lot better.
From the schools you listed I think you'd have your best shot at NUS and UCLA, and you may want to add a few more schools to your list, although I'm not yet sure what your criteria was in selecting schools, but if you write me more about that I may be able to assist.
