Ugrad: 3.56 TOBB ETU(full scholarship)(in turkey)- Industrial Engineering
MBA: 3.92 Bilkent University(full scholarship)(in turkey)- In order to postpone my military service (it is must in Turkey- I am not a guy who wants hold a rifle), I started the MBA program immediately after my graduation without work experience
Work experience: 4 years at a International Defense Company(FNSS Defense System- JV company in Turkey owned by BAE Systems-) as a Strategy and Business Development Specialist, top performer, expect very solid recommendations from CEO and Assistant General Manager
Intl experience: I have been in Dubai, UAE and Malaysia for business purposes and live 4 months in Malta after graduation.
Extra curricular:
Undergrad: president of industrial engineering club, captain of soccer team for two years, and several medal in ski and soccer
Post grad: member of Toastmasters International Club- a leadership and public speaking club- I am very good at public speaking and presentation
Post-MBA goal: Work in USA or EU, and become a consultant at one of the top firms.
I want to try my chances for my top tier MBA programs: Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Kellogg, and MIT.
PS: I do not know how should I explain my reasons for applying an MBA program while I still an MBA Degree in Turkey. And also it is very hard to find any experience admission consultant in Turkey who show me how to handle similar issues.
Hey there,
Well overall I like your profile. You have a great GMAT, excellent grades, are very well educated, worked in a good industry and have some international experience. I'd love to hear more in detail about your work experience, as well as extra curricular activities and volunteer work if any.
The 2nd MBA thing can be tricky (and actually some schools (only a few though) won't consider your application... I believe Duke for example), but I've worked with many Indian clients in the same situation, and usually the way to work it was that "yes I learned some great business stuff, but it lacks the network, the clout, the knowledge, the career services etc. of an international MBA program (i.e. its too local). Basically you have to show a real NEED for it.
Now even with your nice profile, I'd recommend expanding your list to Top 10 schools at least. Only going within all Top 5 can be a bit risky - so maybe Haas or Yale or NYU or whatever other schools appeal to you.
And think about those goals and how they are connected to your past work!
Best,
Jon
