Hi, I would like some advice regarding my profile and which schools (US or Europe) I could potentially be suited for. I am going to apply Round one (September 2016).
Age/gender: 30 male
Nationality: Australian
Education: Bachelor of Economics & Finance (University of Adelaide), Honours Degree in Economics (Australian National University) and Master of Finance (University of New South Wales)
GMAT = 690 (5 years ago, planning to resit)
GPA: 3.4 (If I have converted correctly)
Experience: 6 years
Current Position: Senior Economic Advisor & Team Leader (Corporate Advisory) (Oil and Gas Consultant)
Previous jobs: Project manager commercial real estate, Commercial Analyst Government (3 Years)
Other Work Activities: Part of a Health Tech start up (product is developed and being commercialized)
Extracurricular activity: Cancer Council Australia Ambassador, Soccer/football, and I play lawn bowls.
Other interesting facts: I used to work on cattle stations in the remote outback of Australia, in my high school and university holidays (many interesting experiences). I am also a cancer survivor (this is why I have got involved with Cancer Council as an Ambassador).
I think I have a decent story and strong academics. I am planning to resit the GMAT as the last time, I did not prepare very well, I just went through the questions in the official guide once and sat the test soon after. I am positive I can get around 720+, now I am using Gmat club material,
Manhattan GMAT books, official guides and keeping an
error log ect...
After being involved in a tech startup I am motivated to undertake a MBA which has a focus on entrepreneurship or has strong employment connections with VCs. I am just unsure which schools (In the US or Europe) I would be suited to. I am hoping to do my MBA somewhere in the US or UK (maybe mainland Europe).
Any feedback and advice on appropriate schools would be great.
Cheers
