Hi Jon,
Thanks for doing my profile evaluation.
Following are a few clarifications:
1. The leadership program is basically a Management Trainee program which is an accelerated program for young MBA graduates for Vodafone
2. The switch to EY was because I wanted to get into the consulting space. I had done exceedingly well with Vodafone, I'd finished a stint of mine with Vodafone, I felt the time was right to make a switch to an industry I have always wanted to venture into.
3. MBB is difficult with my profile. The kind of consulting that EY does is very different from what MBB typically does. However having said that following are the few reasons why am considering 2nd MBA:
3.1. Joining a top strategy firm such as MBB
3.2. I did my first MBA right after my engineering which gave me little time/scope to understand what are the skills I needed and which is the sector I wanted to make my career in. Currently I am much more sure of the skills I need to develop and how my work experience along with the pedagogy these schools offer will be able to help me in gaining those.
3.3. The opportunities in my current organization is very very India specific. I am not being exposed to global prospects which can broaden my horizon considerably. While India is the hotbed for a lot of action currently, it is moot to decipher such performance issues without considering the global perspective. That horizon is heavily missing as the scope is very limited. Even when I discuss this issue with my friends in MBB in India they are limited to projects and opportunities which are extensively India specific.
3.4. So far my development/ growth as a leader has been very incidental and topical. I would do good to go through a program which helps me develop a distinctive leadership style and more importantly understanding the global context which my decisions may affect.

As far as the weaknesses are concerned any pointers as to how to address them, I am working on the 2nd MBA story (some pointers have been mentioned above). I couldn't understand my application pool is touch??
Yeah non IIT grad here, any pointers that could help me address this concern given my current profile.
Finally, a top 10 for me is a must. Not really willing to look beyond that. Hence I realize the emphasis on communicating my story effectively.

Thanks again for doing this.

Hey there,
So you are off to a good start to explaining yourself and making an argument for why you need a second MBA and one froma Top 10 school int he States. I mean, I beleive you! But it's more about "how do you make a convincing argument" that I am concerned about :)

Okay, so your Indian MBA wasn't that great, and you want to join MBB. Why? What skills do you lack? what leadership do you lack? what network? what will the new MBA provide you that the previous one didnt? And most importantly: why should all this add up to a reason for the school to choose YOU over another candidate with similar work experience but who didn't do any MBA?

You don't have to answer all these questions here and now, but understanding them and preparing yourself to answer them will be vital to your application success.

I hope these thoughts help, and if you need any assistance with your applications, feel free to drop a line: https://admissionado.com/free-consultati ... n=mba_blog
