Your GMAT is quite a bit below the average for these schools - ideally you're going to need at least a 700. Your GPA is solid but not high enough to outweigh the GMAT & you are starting to get to the high end in terms of work experience, at which point they start to worry that you no longer need the degree. I would keep studying for the GMAT & see if you can get that score up! You want to at least hit a school's average score -- otherwise they will be putting more emphasis on the other parts of your application to make up for that low GMAT (e.g. very high GPA from a very top school, really significant game-changing accomplishments at work, etc).

I am considering to retake the GMAT. However, it might be too late for R1 (Columbia's early decision deadline is on 3 October 2018). Do you think I should wait for R2 instead?
