Antarag:
Appreciate the post!
Q: What do you think about my profile?
A: It is overall good, but you definitely have some areas you can fix between now and the start of application season. Your career goal is intriguing, so I would definitely focus on making sure your essays really tie your current skills and experiences and the MBA to your interest, which you have started to do in this post. You want to make it seem like a natural progression in your career and not a major pivot.
The UK schools might be tough (depending on how up in the rankings you taret) but the others should be doable, especially NUS which is less concerned with the GMAT.
Q: Since this year will be my application year and if I leave my current job and try for an internship will my profile look bad?
A: It will be less than ideal. If you can help it, you should not be leaving a full-time job for an internship before applying. I am sorry that your job is creating such anxiety, but with only six or so months before the R1 deadlines, I am not sure you should not be introducing disruption into your profile. It would be a different story if you were getting a full-time gig, but an internship would create issues. Also, how quickly can you land one? If it's not immediate, you are cutting down on the amount of experience you will have amassed prior to your application submission.
Q: What are your suggestions on this should I continue the job or look for something I would love to pursue?
A: Stay where you are and try to find ways outside of work to show your interest in digital marketing, maybe through some sort of EC, initiative or supplemental courses (or do you feel that is duplicative with your certifications?). You also need to do well on the GMAT. I hope you can find a way of blocking out the noise at work to clear your mind to focus on the GMAT.
You are also welcome to find a new full-time job, but you would have to do so sooner rather than later. If that's possible, I would then consider R2 admissions to give yourself more time to get deep into the experience. However, then you are going to run into issues about why you need an MBA if you have made it into your preferred field. They would naturally ask, wouldn't you be better off getting more experience before getting an MBA?
