Hello
Admissionado,
Nationality: Russian, 29 y.o.
Education: BSc (3.1 GPA) and MSc (3.9 GPA) in geophysics in russian university
Work experience: 5 years. Field engineer. I was recruited by biggest oil service company, when I studied in in the university. I started in Malaysia (0.5 y), UAE (3.5 y) and the last year in Russia. I work at offshore and onshore oil rigs as a supervisor and lead a team 2-8 people. I received my last promotion just before COVID and waited for an office position in UAE. But pandemic started and oil industry was damaged badly. Instead of promotion, I was transferred to Russia on the same position. That time I decided to change the industry.
GMAT: 600 (Q 47/ V 27), IR 7, 3 AWA (June 2021). I have been preparing for 6 months. I am going to retake the exam after 1 week. but I am afraid that I will not be able to improve it drastically. May be 620-640 maximum.
Hobbies: hockey, snowboarding, traveling, creating videos from trips
Plan after MBA: my main objective is to change the industry. I want to work in a stable company and have a good career growth. I am thinking about consulting. But IT sector will be a good for me as well. I want to move from Russia. Preferably, to UAE, Europe, US, Australia, South Asia.
Schools: I was planning to apply to top European school for 1 year (INSEAD, Oxford, Cambridge, HEC, IMD). But now I think these schools are not reachable with my GMAT. And I will be happy to study in any top schools (not only in Europe), which will help me to change the industry and country and boost my career. I don’t have a lot of time to prepare for GMAT, because I want to try to apply for January 2022 intake in HEC, INSEAD, and IMD.
Question: do you think I have a chance to be admitted by these schools with 600 GMAT or definitely no? What school can you recommend with my profile? I hope that admission committee will value that I am from not very popular demography and I have international experience in a big known company.
Regards,
Slava
