That's understandable and fairly legitimate. I might phrase it slightly differently (without being defensive) and certainly make the entire argument very forward-looking. As far as how the AdCom will interpret it - well, that's anyone's guess. We can help you put together a very reasonable and genuine optional essay to explain all that; however, you do need to hedge as it will be very difficult to get any feedback from the AdCom.

The good news for you is that you have a mostly excellent profile otherwise. The 770 GMAT, as I mentioned, will be very powerful in arguing that you will be able to handle the rigor of the MBA program. Plus, it'll absolutely boost the average GMAT score for your class profile so that helps with the "give and take" of your GPA. As long as you nail all the other components of your application, you should be in good case for some of the middle schools on your list and still be a candidate for the top ones.

We hope to hear from you! If not, best of luck in your process.

Hi,

You have a decent profile and should not worry too much about your GPA. Scoring a 770 on GMAT more than makes up for it. B-Schools look at your more recent score as an indication of your growth and ability to improve. Older scores are not something we can change anyway hence you should not let them impact your confidence.

You can realistically get into all of the programs on your list but there needs to be a connection between your career graph so far and your long-term goals. The Schools need to see a plan wherein it makes sense for them to take you into the program. This is where your application essays come in. There needs to be a motivational learning curve in your journey so far. If you are unsure how to approach this you can speak with an admission coach or program ambassador to understand more.

Apart from the programs on your list, I would also like to recommend Kellogg, Duke, CMU Tepper, Washington Foster. You can check if these are a good fit for you.
