That's why we are recommending the Executive MBA/Part-time MBA. It is a good fit for someone with your experience to round out their strategy, management, operations, etc. skillset to make the move from technical to management. It does not necessarily happen overnight but having that degree will give you the credibility and (academic) knowledge to justify a promotion or lateral move within industry.
You could also consider other master degree programs, but those tend to be the same situation as the full-time MBA. Lastly, you could look at top schools offering things like executive crash courses to earn a management certification or something to that effect.
Schooling is a way to prepare yourself for the job! At a certain point, there's only so much you can learn from a program/school that you won't eventually experience on the job.
