HI . I would like to know whether may profile is suitable for my target colleges . Also, kindly suggest targets schools considering my profile.

Age;28
Gender; Male 
 
B. Tech in Metallurgical Engineering From IIT(BHU), Varanasi . CGPA 7.76/10 on absolute scale

Gate2014 - All India Rank 5 in Metallurgical Engineering 
 
GMAT score - 740 (unofficial ) ( yet to receive official scores)

Work experience: 7 years of experience in Oil Refining . Working in a public sector undertaking, Largest Oil Marketing company of India ( a Fortune 500 company ). Received one promotion and next promotion due in March 2022.

Post MBA goals: Consulting

Target schools R2 2021 : Ross, Darden, Tuck, Columbia, Yale SOM

kungfupanda1306 : Thanks for reaching out. Question: What is an unofficial GMAT score of 740? Did you actually get the score or is that somehow anticipated? How are your extracurricular/community activities, if any? Are you involved in things besides work that you can put on your application? Consulting as a post-MBA goal is not terribly inspiring. It's not a disqualifier, but you will need to bring some originality to the table. As for your list, Columbia is going to be a huge stretch. Tuck will also be tough given the size. By unofficial score I meant the score that popped up on screen at the end of exam. However I have got the official scores now.

I don't have any extra-curricular activities however I am involved actively in community services.

Oh, that's no big deal. You might as well count it as official.

Community services are good. Can you extrapolate on what those mean? You don't necessarily have to do it here, but you should in your application. Those are important to show that you are having an impact beyond just your work environment.

at personal level - I taught for 2 years at an orphanage on the weekends. During the covid 19 lockdown, I was involved with a team and we provided food to around 50 stranded truck drivers.

I have also been involved at corporate level in CSR Activities of the organisation.

Great, you should absolutely talk those up where appropriate. That could be your essays, resume, activities sheet (if given in the school's application.) All of this counts in making you a well-rounded applicant, thereby, improving your chances of admission.
