1. What level of schools should I be aiming for here?
2. How would that level shift were I to wait a year and apply with an additional year of work experience?
· Demographics: White US Male
· Education: State School (Ranked between 150-200 nationally) 3.96 GPA (Highest GPA in my college within the University) with an Arts Education Major
· Other coursework or post-undergraduate education: Additional Coursework at that institution in Political Science and Economics (Highest grades for those courses), Certification in Nonprofit Management from UT Austin
· GMAT: Official Score: 720 (48Q, 42V, 8IR, 6AWA)
· Work experience: 2YOE (at matriculation Fall 2023) at a Political Nonprofit, Multiple promotions in that time from an internship to current title, Program Manager, lots of national travel to college campuses. I've run the internship program and directly managed between 1-2 interns per semester. I'm a "key project personnel" on a $1.3 million grant we recently received for which I hold many operational responsibilities.
· Extracurricular activities: Undergrad: President of a 30-person student organization, multiple leadership roles in a couple other organizations; post: Helped start a nonprofit (incorporation, 501c3 filing) where I, with the exec director, managed 25 volunteers, and I currently sit on the board.
· Post-MBA goals: Looking to transition to the business side of the tech industry and broaden my somewhat vocational undergrad education
· Target schools: I'm struggling with this currently. It's difficult to see how/if less work experience can be outweighed with scores, GPA, and extracurriculars.

A: I could see you targeting something between T20 and T40 in the US. You have an overall good profile but your years of experience and lower school ranking might work against you. Still, solid GPA and GMAT scores will make you competitive.
2. How would that level shift were I to wait a year and apply with an additional year of work experience?
A: I believe it would help tremendously. There's a big difference between 2 and 3 years of experience in the eyes of the admissions committee. It would also give you time to improve your profile in other ways with the additional time under your belt. If I were you, I would wait and be in an even stronger position for next year.
