Hello,
I'm currently a marketer with approximately 6 years of marketing experience in traditional marketing, project management roles, and minimal digital experience, I currently make a descent salary of 60k and don't want to take a step back in salary to gain digital experience that I think Id be able to learn in whichever role I go to next. I'm currently at a great company with a well-respected reputation, just not in the role I want. I was thinking to help me get into more of a digital role I would apply and take the NYU - Digital Marketing certificate program, I wanted to see if you thought this would be useful to prospective HR reps, and if a course such as this would actually provide me with the skills to be confident Id be able to take on a digital media role? I also hope it will put me on the road to a higher salary with more in-demand skills? Thanks

Just to clarify, you are not planning to apply to an MBA program currently, you are just curious for additional opinions on the NYU digital marketing certificate? In general, certainly additional education and certifications in areas that will benefit your career cannot hurt, and can add more to your resume and employability.... but to learn more about a specific certificate program like this, even at a reputable school like NYU, I strongly suggest you a) ask lots of direct q's to the admissions officers/professors of the program before applying, b) ask to be put in touch with current students and alum of the program (generally admissions offices will do this), and c) if possible contact some recruiters/HR offices at companies you may consider applying to in future, and get their feedback on it.
