Dear All,
I'd like to get your insight regarding my profile and thanks in advance for your time.
Basic background:
1. Aged 33 years, Indian male, married with 1 kid.
2. Masters of Computer Science (in 2003) with 70%
3. Working in IT as Technical Lead with around 10 years of experience
4. Have International exposure working in different countries like US, France for some time.
5. Have been working in Finance Domain, in an IB, from around last 4 years.
Why Pursue MBA now:
1. Initially didn't had money to pursue. Took me some time to put on some money and finally took the decision. Guess, its never late to arise, awake and do something best in life.
2. Strong Passion.
ECA:
1. Taking free moral classes for underpriviliged children
2. Take personality development classes for adults
3. Interested in Music, plays guitar. Got some awards for it
4. Got some Microsoft Tech certifications.
What I would like to know:
1. Am I eligible for MBA (pref 2 year)? Basically I want to target LBS, so, please suggest me whether that suits my profile or not.
2. Apart from GMAT Score (Am preparing for it now), is there any way that I can improve my profile for more suitability.
3. Considering my age and profile, what are the other colleges in UK/US, which I can give it a shot.

Hi Ravi,
Thanks for posting. It's great that you are focusing on a step you are passionate about, but it could be a challenging road at this point in your career. It's still possible, certainly, and European b-schools tend to have slightly higher average-age students than US schools, so that could be more reasonable... but be sure you can expand upon why you really NEED this degree, at this point in your career, and exactly what you'll do with it... passion is great but not sufficient in terms of why get an MBA.
LBS sometimes admits older students, yes, but there are a lot of unknowns on my end at this point. Of course GMAT is an important factor so be sure to prep thoroughly; also I don't know much about the content of your 10 years of work experience, and that could make a big difference-- what skills and experiences have you gained? And over 10 years, some leadership and management experiences would be ideal, if you can showcase, and commitment to the community is a plus as well. What LBS does offer is some brief initial feedback on your CV... that said it is usually pretty generic and them saying you are someone who should apply won't be the same as saying you would be accepted, but doesn't hurt to do it: https://mba.london.edu/military/submit-cv-resume.html. In the US I'd aim outside the top 20 most likely, and GMAT score may play a part there. Not sure if you are considering part-time at all, or exec, but those often have older students as well.
