GMAT Score: 710 [Quant:49 , Verbal:36, I.R.:7 , AWA:5]
Educational Qualifications:
Graduation: Completed B.E in Electrical and Electronics Engg. from BIT Mesra Ranchi in 2011 with 76.3%.
H.S.C: secured 89.8% CBSE Board 2007
S.S.C: secured 90.0% CBSE Board 2005
Work Experience:
Tata Motors(Passenger Car Division) for 1 month as GET
Leading power PSU in India as Assistant Manager(Operations) for 3 years: Responsible for safe,reliable and efficient operation for 200 Mega Watt units and offsite( impacting 600 Mega Watts of generation)
Work Related Achievements:
Represented my plant at regional level competitions(both internal and external like AIMA National Competition for Young Managers) as team leader
Appreciation letter from department for emergency handling.
Appointed for a project on water balance study for ensuring zero wastage with Efficiency Dept.
Secured 8th position in classroom training(6 months) performance evaluation all over NTPC
Extra Curricular:
Bronze medal in school for Class Xth board exams
Conducting quizzes on behalf of Quiz Club at college and also organizer in inter-college fests
Published day to day utility apps on Google Play,Amazon Store with a team of software professionals(contributed on interface design,features and website design).
Contributed to Friends of Tribal Society, Worldvision and developed a website for people infected with AIDS in North East to help with donations.
Please suggest what could be done to strengthen my chances at ISB.
Also suggest what other colleges I can apply given my profile and GMAT Score.I am particularly worried about my GMAT score as it is on the lower side when considering the competitive Indian applicant pool.
Post MBA I am interested in working in areas like Operations,Supply Chain Management or Consulting.

Thanks for sharing. So you've got some solid academics; some recognition and team-lead experience and work, and of course as an engineer, strong quant/analytical skills. In terms of 'strengthening your chances', generally at this point, since most of what you have done is in the past (if applying this fall), the best thing to focus on is the essays and how you'll portray yourself in the applications and interview. Brainstorming will be key-- to help you remember and then illustrate your key strengths; accomplishments; what is unique about you; what you'd contribute to a class; what you are passionate about as well as proud of. If you can identify more of those, your profile will be strengthened. You should also likely solidify your goals story a bit as well; showing you've done some thinking and are truly certain that the MBA is right for you and why.
For operations/supply chain, you could look at US schools like Tepper, Ross, Kelley, Eller etc as well.
Good luck on the process and let us know what other questions you have!
