Hello Jen,
Thanks for your help last time. I have a very simple question about business school selection this time. I have googled it myself but I would like to obtain professional advise from MBA consultant.
I am currently looking for business schools in the States which are most suitable for entrepreneur or management consultant job as this is my future plan.
Here's my guess, could you let me know whether I am looking at the right direction please?
My rank from top down:
1.) Harvard
2.) Stanford
3.) Wharton
4.) MIT
5.) Yale
6.) Haas
7.) Booth (University of Chicago)
8.) Northwestern University (Kellogg) - a bit more focus on marketing
9.) Duke University (Fuqua) - general management
10.) Darkmouth College - general managment

Sure thing, will try my best...
So a few points here.... first of all, preparing for entrepreneurship and for a job as a management consultant could be considered two quite different tracks... though arguably very similar skills do apply to both. But I'm not sure about attempting a ranking that combines the two... however I WILL say that all of the top programs will do a great job providing you with the skills to do either!! So you can't go wrong really, but specifically for management consulting you'll want to check the employment stats/hiring profiles to identify schools that produce a LOT of management consultants, and to see what companies hire a lot from certain schools. Certainly the top 5-8 schools will be up there; also a school not on your list which is up there for consulting is Darden. For entrepreneurship, again the top schools are all great... many of them have huge rates of entrepreneurs eventually... keep in mind that the %'s starting a biz RIGHT after b-school are often QUITE small even at top schools, fyi. Babson is actually often rated #1 in rankings for entrepreneurship, fyi! Many of the other schools you mentioned are up there, and then Ross and McCombs often come up too.
