Hi rvc27--

Well the biggest groups going to business school are generally coming from finance, consulting, accounting backgrounds; then you have various industry & general management applicants and marketing, operations, etc. Engineering & IT applicants have become quite common. Graphic design that you mention would be less common and a bit more 'non traditional' you could say. So you'd want to emphasize what unique viewpoints, perspectives and experiences you would bring to classroom dynamics and discussions given your background. That can be a plus for a less traditional applicant; the challenge is just to really still make a strong case for why you do NEED the MBA and show that you know what you are getting into and what you'll do with it. Good luck!
