Here is my typical Indian profile 
Under Grad- Vellore Institute of Technology-7.7/10-EE ( Last time I saw the ranking, it is in top 15, I am not sure if it is recognized in USA.)
Grad- Arizona State University-Master's in EE ( Power and Energy-Renewable energy focus) -3.3/4
GMAT- 720. Will Scoring higher help?. I am applying of fall 2018, so I have time.
First Job-
Bloom Energy- Fuel Cell company in Sunnyvale, California.-8 months.
As this was my first job, lot of learning to do. Did some design, testing, commissioning of fuel cells. Learned about grid integration, IEEE standards etc. This job gave me a good understanding of American power Grids.
But unfortunately had to leave the company because of visa sponsorship issues.
Second Job-
A mid size engineering and manufacturing firm in California- 1 year and 6 months.
Worked as an electrical engineer-designing control houses, protection and controls of high voltage electrical substations. Both renewable and conventional. A purely technical job designing circuits. worked for clients like PG&E, Southern California Edison, Etc
I was leading a team of 5 electrical technicians during the commissioning activities.
Third & present job -
One of the most reputed EPC firms for power and energy- Planning to work for two and half years. ( until mid 2018)
Designing high voltage electrical substations and relaying schemes focusing on renewables. Currently working on projects for Duke energy, nextEra, Entergy. I am trying to get into projects in Africa. ( keeping my WE short as I don't want to bore you with my technical details of job)
Draw Backs-
1) I work in a purely technical field and it takes a very good time( to become an expert) to get into leadership roles. All the project leads in my company at least have 8-12 years of experience and managers even more than that. I am not sure if B schools understand this. (I was the captain of my school football team if that helps.)
2) Community service- Can't do it when I am in States. I am a H1B visa holder and can't work for any organisation ( profit or non profit) except for my sponsoring company.
3) Indian Engineer even through I never worked in India. I made my first dollar in USA.
Post MBA-
Consulting, hopefully in clean energy firms. Can even return back to my present company, we have our own consulting division which specializes in energy consulting. I am still trying to get my post MBA goals in order.
Target Schools-
Haas- I know that I won't get in
Duke- They have energy specialization. Dream School!!-Close proximity to energy giants like Duke energy, NextEra etc.
McCombs- second preference.
Johnson
Anderson
Rice
Tepper
ISB
Marshall- not sure about this. But I feel it is a very reputed school in Southern California.
Am I being too ambitious in the school list? Considering that I will be making atleast $115K p.a by 2020 if I stay in my present job. Not sure if it is worth my time and money if I step outside top 25.
I already have a H1B visa, I will be lottery exempt until 2021. I can get a H1B visa without lottery if I graduate before 2021. So I have to get into an MBA program by 2018 or else let go of the B school dream or apply to ISB or other international programs.
I am very keen on using the service of admission consultants as I can't take chances!!
Your inputs will be very helpful.

Good undergrad background. Your GMAT is strong but scoring higher might help if you think you can and you've got time. They will always accept your highest score!
Sounds like you've had very strong career progression and team lead experience (they will understand that true technical leadership roles require more experience). Having some international exposure would be a nice plus too. Will your current company sponsor you for the MBA? That can look good for the application since you are "lower risk" if you have a guaranteed job post-graduation. Worth looking into. If not then at least have one of your recommenders mention the possibility of you rejoining the company.
The lack of extracurriculars could be a concern -- were you involved in activities in college? Are there professional networking groups or other activities you participate in now or hobbies you pursue during your spare time? You don't need to be a paid employee of another organization, just need to show you have activities going on outside of work and ideally ones that show you giving back to your community (which could be your community back home, your work community, etc.) so I know there are options for doing so even on a visa. Happy to discuss more on this if you like.
I think Haas will be a real stretch. Duke could be tough too, it's a very popular program but if you apply to the early deadline and really make an effort to visit / engage with the school, that could help a lot. Anderson might be tough too. Otherwise it looks like you've got a good diverse list of schools many of which are known for energy.

As far as my extra curricular activities-
1) I was soccer team captain representing my school.
2) I am a marathon runner and completed several of them. I usually go back packing to a country( I love to travel!!) and run a marathon there. Kyoto ( Japan ) is where I ran my last marathon.
3) Sounds stupid but still- I am a very good World of Warcraft (PC game) player. Won several competitions internationally. ( Gamer's can relate to this if there are any in B schools)
Yes, I agree I don't need a visa for community service. I was under the impression that I need to work for a verifiable non profit organisation to prove my credentials. I am wrong here. Your inputs in this will help me a lot. I don't want the Adcoms to think that I did some work just for the sake of admissions.
I already visited Duke's campus in Durham. It was an unplanned visit and I couldn't make the most of it. Can you give me a few tips on how to make some impact when I visit their campus again?
When I was a Master's student in Arizona State University, I attended some guest lectures in WP Carey ( ASU's business school) by taking prof's permission. Do they allow that else where?
