Hi everyone,
Here is my profile :
African female
30 years old
Master degree in telecommunication, and another one in IT (waiting for oral defence of the dissertation paper), and a licence degree in Sociology
Work in an international development organization as IT Expert
Started as IT assistant, but with fast promotion of 4 Grades in 5 years
A lot of international exposure in Africa for 2 years with work with Governments officials
6 years of experience
Not significant experience in community work after graduation, but creative leisure like designing my own dresses, writing novels, fictions, making mobile app, reading a lot, and drawing.
GMAT : 710 (91%), Quant 44 (67%) , verbal 40 (91%)
Native knowledge of French
Objective after MBA : A career in technology management in consulting or non profit
My dreams schools were Stanford GSB and MIT Sloan, but I was dinged after applying at the R3 this year with essay written in rush.
I am a bit lost now. Which school should I apply to? Am I too old? Is my profile competitive for a top MBA?

Hi there,
Thanks for your post. While I don't know the full details of your professional experiences and accomplishments, nor much about your grades, if all falls into place and those aspects are strong, I would think you have a solid profile for top 10 schools (give or take the ranking of course). Be sure to make a strong case when asked, about why you want the MBA and why each school is right for you, and how you envision those next career steps will play out. Your international exposure is a plus as well. Now Stanford is a tough reach for anyone!! So keep that in mind... and your GMAT is just a touch lower than typical averages there... but you could give it another shot and/or look at some other top programs and invest more time into your essays and applications. Let us know if we can help further, and good luck!!
