Hello - Could you please evaluate my profile below? Thanks in advance!
Planning to apply in September 2017 (R1).
Work experience: 2 years with bulge-bracket bank as credit analyst, followed by 2 years as investment banking analyst. Currently associate on private equity team of large asset management firm, will have 2 years exp. at time of enrollment.
Undergrad school/major: Top-50 undergrad business program, Finance and Accounting double major
Other : CFA I&II, will take level III before MBA
Race/nationality: White male
GMAT: 710 Q44 V44 (1st attempt, planning to re-take, 730 target)
GPA: 3.4
Goal of MBA: Stay in Private Equity or other Principal Investing
Target schools: Wharton, Booth, Columbia (January Term)

Hi there,
So your experience, progression, and exposure to various facets of finance sound solid. Your grades and GMAT are lackluster compared with the large # of similar applicants out there, so it's good that you are aiming for another GMAT attempt.
CFA is a plus; not sure what you have in terms of community involvement, other leadership and extra curriculars, and of course other factors such as recommendations, essays, and interview play a large role in some cases, but overall hopefully with strong applications you would get some consideration at the schools you mention, with Wharton being the toughest. Good luck on that GMAT and let us know how it goes!!
