Hi Experts.
Background- Commerce student.
High School- 1st Division.
Graduation- 1st division.
Nationality- Indian
Work Ex- 4 years. 2 years at Royal Bank of Scotland. I managed payments department. I was responsible for setting and amendments of Standing Instructions and Direct Debits, ensuring the identity of the clients to prevent any financial frauds, Keeping a Close watch on money laundering and terrorist financing.
At present I am working as a Business Development Head in my start up that I established in 2016. I manage the operations, marketing, finance and advertising.
I negotiate with the clients to come to an agreeable position and I am responsible for finding fresh clients and make sure that the relationship is enhanced with the customers.
GMAT 650(Q-42 V-37 IR-1 AWA-5.5).
I have participated in several charity events and have won volleyball championships.
Targeting Canadian business schools. Sauder, Schulich, Rotman, McGill, and Richard Ivey.
How competitive is my profile with the current GMAT score?
OR, Should I consider re-appearing??(which is tough not impossible though, since I have been diagnosed with kidney stones, so the medication, pain, and psychological hit are the factors contributing to re-think )

Hi Sandy. Thank you for your post. Admissions committees will look at your profile holistically, analyzing your stats (GPA/GMAT), work experience and extracurriculars. So while your GMAT is important, it is not the only factor.
That being said, your GMAT is competitive with the schools you listed. You are at about the average, although your IR is lower than admissions committees would like to see. Certainly if you were able to take the GMAT again and improve your quant score and IR, that would help your application. But if improving your score does not seem realistic based on your practice scores, and if you also do not have the mental energy to take it again, then concentrate on the other parts of the application such as your work experience, and you will still be competitive.
It is tough to gauge the impact and accomplishments you have made at work, but it does seem that you have good work experience. I especially like that you started your own start-up and manage many tasks. This can be an area where you differentiate yourself so make sure you can demonstrate what you have accomplished and do so in a compelling way through your essay writing.
Similarly, if you have any extracurricular experiences where you have shown leadership capabilities, that will also impress admissions committees.

Hi Michael. First of all, thank you for writing back and highlighting the positives of my profile.
About the highlighted part above. If I give another shot and not able to score better than my current score,ending up cancelling my score, do you think a failed attempt would make the admissions committees more skeptical about my profile and raise a red flag?
