Hello,
Thank you for reading my post and helping me answer a career move question that I am contemplating.
I have worked at Accenture for 2.5 years and am likely (fingers crossed) going to be promoted next month from Senior Analyst to Consultant. However, I was recently offered a position at Deloitte as a Consultant in their practice. Both positions (Accenture and Deloitte) are similar (Talent and Organization within Management Consulting at Accenture and Change Strategy within Human Capital at Deloitte).
What I am trying to determine is whether switching to Deloitte will have a positive, negative, or neutral impact on my chances of getting into a good MBA program.
Other factors at play include that I will likely apply for an MBA program in two years for matriculation in Fall 2021 (due to personal circumstances). Also, from my experience at Accenture, Accenture seems to discourage getting an MBA. I'm not really sure how much this would impact my recommendations or whether this really matters all that much.

You asked whether switching to Deloitte will have a positive, negative, or neutral impact on my chances of getting into a good MBA program...and I'm afraid it's pretty much impossible to answer. What matters more is what you DO when you are in either role - will you have better opportunities to make an impact or do great work at one over the other? Is one more exciting to you, so that you might be more engaged? Do you have special opportunities at one or the other?
The only hint I have that would possibly tip the balance would be your comment about recommenders. If your bosses discourage people from getting an MBA, that could make for weak or impossible-to-get recommendations. Recommendations are really important (they do matter!) so if you feel that Deloitte would be more supportive, then that could be something to tip the scales...but I still think the bigger question would be the impact you are able to make.
