Hi Piyush,
Those are very open ended questions, so there's no set formula or approach you need to apply. Start broadly and think first about what you want NUS to know about you.
For the first question, I think any stories could be relevant, both professional and personal. I would give 1 or 2 examples from your past and then write at least 1 paragraph on how your definition of success translates to your future (post-NUS) goals. The examples you give could be previous successes, or even a failure that you learned a lot from.
For the second question, yes, I think you could pick any issue and any region or country within Asia, it doesn't need to be an issue affecting all of Asia. I think the strategies could be really broad too, so could encompass any of the areas you mentioned. The important thing to remember about this question is that they're still trying to get to know you, so the issue you choose should have some connection to you or your future goals. You need to explain the issue (briefly), then explain why it is meaningful to you, and then explain your ideas for addressing it.
Hope that helps and good luck! If you find you need more detailed help, let us know.
Best,
Kate

Hi,
Can you please give some tips to approach the below 2 essays of NUS 2019 application?
1. Define what success means to you. ---In this what we need to exactly write? What school is looking for? What kind of stories should come into it? what should be the structure of it. It's a very moral science kind of question.
2. Name one current issue(economic/social/political)that Asia is facing and identify a couple of strategies that you think may address this issue.-- In this different countries has different problems so can we select any one country and problem associated with it? Also, what kind of strategies are expected --technical/social etc.?
I am not getting any clue to approach this essays and deadlines are quite near so please help.
Thanks & Regards
Piyush
