Hello, I am currently trying to decide target schools or if an MBA is even worth it with my current application profile.
SUNY Purchase Undergrad, 2.5 GPA, History
680 GMAT score
Work Experience:
I am a 26 year old Latino man with 5 years of work experience hoping to apply to schools in the fall of 2020. I currently work at a major cable network in the research department specifically portfolio research. I began my career in adverting sales, in the same company I currently work for, and received 2 promotions in 3 years. I recently made a lateral move to join the research department reporting directly to the EVP of Research and Analytics. In my career I have received 2 awards for leadership.
Extracurricular:
I ran my colleges intramural basketball team, was also a catalyst to start one in my department at work. I had the most listened to radio show as an undergrad, while also running the stations social media account. I am an member of my local aquarium society and have submitted my aquascaped aquariums in competitions (did not win). I participate in a buddy system in my current place of work to help incoming employees.
Additional Course Work:
I have taken Accounting and Corporate Finance at NYU's school of professional studies and received A's in both since graduating college.
My hope is to go to a top 30 MBA program. Is that possible with my undergrad GPA and a relatively low GMAT? If so do you have any suggestions for target schools?
Thank you!
