- Demographic:
Iranian male, immigrated to Canada alone when I was 15
- Education:
Western University, Double Major Biology and Medical Science, GPA around 3.3 (part of a few clubs, but undergrad wasn't a great time for me. spent most of the time partying and didn't really know what I wanted to do with my life)
to boost my GPA, I did a business management certificate at the University of Toronto with a 3.96 GPA
-GMAT:
680 (Q49, V34), second online attempt 2 weeks later because I knew I could've got a 700+, but I was burnt out so got a mere 660 (Q50, V29). my brain completely stopped working halfway through verbal. Going to take a break and retake in a few months, confident that I will get a 720-740. (but I need a suggestion whether it's necessary to retake it and whether I got a chance with 680)
-Work Experience:
3 years of experience at a UK-based HR Consulting firm. Started in sales and got promoted 5 times to a Sales Operations team lead position. During my tenure, I have improved many aspects of the company, including the payment processing system and travel management processes, and was elected to speak at a sales conference.
I have networked extensively and was looking to work at tier 1 or 2 management consulting firm before I apply for an MBA. My plan is to get some international experience at a top b-school feeder company.
-Extracurriculars:
Head of Event planning and budgeting at my current company
E-commerce coordinator (volunteer) at a non-profit
Certified Personal trainer
Co-founder and Director of sales and operations at digital design consultancy firm (a startup founded with my friend, scaling surprisingly well and will be profitable very soon)
Provide pro-bono immigration consulting to families in the middle east. have successfully migrated 2 families
Speak 3 languages English, French, Farsi
Target School:
Harvard, Stanford, Booth, Wharton, Insead, LBS, Rotman
Any specific questions you would like answered by our team:
1) I'm looking to apply in 2-3 years and I will be 29-30 by then, is that going to be an issue?
2) Should I retake the GMAT?
3) any other suggestions to get me into those schools?
Thank you,
