Hello, my name is Ankit and I want to share my profile for review:
Demographics (nationality, gender):
I am an Indian male residing in New Delhi
Education (undergraduate institution, GPA, major - high school/entrance exams not needed):
I have an undergraduate degree in Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) from Symbiosis University, Pune.
Other coursework or post-undergraduate education:
I am also completing a post graduate diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication.
GMAT or GRE or EA score (include section breakdown):
Have taken the GMAT once in 2020 with a score of 610 which I rejected, starting my prep once more to give it. My target score is 710.
Work experience (briefly highlight amount of work experience, industries, roles, promotions, special accomplishments, international exposure):
I have 6 years of work experience with 5 of them in the advertising industry. I started as a jr. social media manager and went on to become Account supervisor. I got promoted at least once a year in each company I worked in. Then I switched to the client side for a marketing role where I was also managing e-commerce sales in the consumer electronics industry. I have received special monetary or other tangible awards (apart from promotions) at companies I have worked at within a short span of time.
Extracurricular activities (briefly highlight notable undergraduate and post-undergraduate ones):
I was part of the organizing committee for our fest for 2 years under the Press department where were responsible to cover all events. I am also a photographer and content creator who runs a travel photography and stories page on Instagram. I have taught myself Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere Pro to help improve my skills as a content creator.
Post-MBA goals:
I want to settle in Canada and work in Marketing / Brand Marketing / Communication / Digital Marketing / Social Media from a client's side. One of the main reasons for me to pursue an MBA is to make this switch to marketing side properly and hold a good position to start my life in Canada.

I am not the most well off person financially and would like to aim for a scholarships or prefer schools which are relatively cheaper. I also have an 8 month gap in my CV which was in the Covid year in 2020 due to personal family reasons, I also took that time to prepare for GMAT as Indian advertising industry doesn't give us any time for personal development also took that time to travel and do treks in the Himalayas.
Any specific questions you would like answered by our team:
I want to understand if the gap in my CV and my advertising background would deter me from gaining an advantage in the large pool which applies from India. Also I want to understand what would be a good score to even apply for scholarships in any of the above schools.

You seem to have a strong profile for admission into a top school in Canada. A few things I would address:
School selection:
Your target school list looks like all the top 10 schools in Canada. You need to focus on the schools that fit your needs rather than apply to all ten top schools. In your essays and interviews, you will have to show that you are a good fit for each particular school and it is not possible to be a good fit at every top school.
Financial need:
Some schools in Canada like McGill offer large loans to accepted MBA students which the student pays back quickly once they land a great job upon graduation. Other schools like HEC Montreal have lower fees. You will need to talk to alumni of each school to see which school is the best fit for your career goals. If you are a Canadian citizen or PR holder, you may also be eligible for lower tuition fees across most Canadian business schools.
Standardized tests:
I would not have canceled the 610 score. Most schools focus on your highest score, so there is no need to cancel a 600+ score. I believe a score in the high 600s or low 700s should be good enough for most of the schools you are targeting.
Finally, I would not worry too much about an 8-month gap given that you seem to have 5 years of work experience and have been promoted a few times. There are many ways to explain small gaps in a career.

The application process is truly holistic, and committees will look at your stats (GPA and GMAT), work experience, and extracurriculars.
You did not mention your GPA, but as far as your GMAT, if you hit your target score of 710, compared to others in your demographic, it is about the average of the schools you listed. It would be impressive to increase your score 100 points from a 610, so if you can do that, you should be proud. But even so, I suggest taking it additional times to reach your maximum potential. You have nothing to lose since schools will only look at your highest score. And even a slight increase can boost your profile. If you do not reach a 700 though, you may still want to illustrate to the schools that you have the academic ability to succeed in the classroom. You could showcase your quant ability in your resume, your recommenders could do the same in their recommendations, or you could even take a supplemental course such as stats or calculus.
It is hard to gauge your work experience without knowing your accomplishments and impact you have made there. It is nice to see that you have been promoted at least once per year. I do not feel that your advertising background would specifically hurt your chances. No matter what industry your work experience is in, it’s more important to show you have made an impact and demonstrated leadership there. Ideally this will be supported by strong recommendation letters as well. It will also be important to explain why you want your MBA, and to also illustrate the skills you already have which are transferable. Be sure your story makes sense, and is realistic and specific.
Regarding extracurriculars, make sure to really emphasize your leadership roles you have taken on. It sounds like you can do that through your time as part of the organizing committee.
Lastly, you will have to explain why you have the 8 month gap on your CV in the Optional Essay, but if you do that concisely and discuss your development during that time, it will also not necessarily deter schools from admitting you.
If you continue to strengthen your profile, you do have a chance at some of these schools, but they will be competitive, and each school simply does not have the room to admit all the world's qualified applicants. It will even be that much harder to earn a scholarship. For that reason, I suggest apply to several schools, including reach, target and safety. So consider some schools lower ranked in Canada than the ones you listed. Hopefully one of the schools you apply to will see that you have a compelling story and are someone who will add value to the classroom and community.
