Demographics: Nordic, M22
Education:
- 3rd year at B.Sc Industrial Engineering & Management (GPA: 4.9/5.0)
- 2nd year at B.Sc Business Administration & Economics (GPA: 3.8/4.0)
(Two different universities)
GMAT: Only test scores so far (best is 740 - Q50V40)
Work experience:
- MBB internship (ongoing)
- 3x IB internships (including Goldman Sachs)
- 1x PE internship
- CEO and Co-founder of two own businesses. One with $260k in revenue (>100% CAGR from the year before) and seven employees.
Extracurricular activities:
- President of two student committees and board member in another two
- Student ambassador
- Won U-18 National Championship and Euro U19 Championship in a minor sport
Post-MBA goals:
- Enhance my entrepreneurship possibilities. A deferred admission would constitute a "safe heaven" and let me take more risks in start-ups and similar possibilities. It would also legitimize me towards future investors and allow me to get a much broader (and way more international) network.
Target Schools:
- HBS 2+2
- GSB Deferred
- (MIT Sloan Deferred)
Other information relevant to my profile:
I believe I am well-positioned in terms of WE and education, but I do not have any volunteering experience or publications. I am currently enrolled in a B.Sc, but in the Nordics, the engineering programs are often seen as five years, and it is almost an obligatory master's. Therefore, I will have 1-2 years to prepare myself ahead of the application. Apart from getting a great GMAT score, what would you say I should spend time on?
Education:

Hi Tjogge - I find these programs to be somewhat unpredictable in admissions, but in general, they were seen as a way to scoop up people who were less likely to apply down the road to the normal MBA programs (so scientific folks often were targeted), or who might benefit from this additional career boost (underrepresented minorities, women). That said, they look for the same qualities of impact and leadership that they do in the normal candidates. So, I would lean into your more differentiating aspects of leadership, impact and risk taking (as opposed to your execution of expected things in blue chip internships) to show you are a mover and shaker within your world and highlight your personal qualities, character and passion.
