Hi everyone! I was fortunate enough to be admitted into Booth and Tuck. The two programs are very different and there are elements of both that I really love. In terms of my goals - although I've talked about VC in my essays, I'm going into b-school with a very open mind. Not only do I realize how competitive VC roles are, I also want to give myself a chance to see if there are any other career paths I might be interested in. So in terms of career goals, the school I would lean towards would be the one that provides the most optionality.
In addition to career "optionality", the other major factors I want to take into consideration are long-term brand value (globally speaking - I'm not an American citizen) and a highly communal MBA experience that fosters long-lasting relationships. My research and conversations so far have led me to believe that Booth wins on the career optionality and long-term brand value (again, globally speaking) fronts but Tuck wins hands down in terms of offering a communal MBA experience.
I know I have to make this decision based on which aspect of the MBA experience I value most, but I wanted to use this poll as another data point I can take into consideration when making the decision. I also wanted to get your thoughts on the following questions:
1) Are the assumptions I've made on career optionality, long-term brand value and the communal experience largely accurate? I request readers not to take any offense to the basic inferences I've drawn so far from my research and conversations.
2) Assuming no scholarship money from either program, which one would you choose and why??
Thank you in advance for taking the time to help me think through this decision.
