Hey there dear GMAT-takers!
Here is my situation I seek you to evaluate:
I am from a european university and have graduated with a GPA slightly below the mostly demanded 3.0 GPA (according to most conversion tables).
I have a B.Sc. in Economics at a renowned dutch university (triple crown accreditation).
Recently I took my GMAT and scored 590 (61th perc. in math and 54th perc. in verbal with AWA 5 and IR 5). (My
Manhattan prep went slightly better. I had 620 in my latest two attempts three days prior to the test). Overall I learned a little more than 1 month for the GMAT.
Now I am wondering where to apply for my Master. I want to apply for the usual "
Master in Management" programmes at the european schools:
- IE in Spain
- Mannheim in Germany(- Copenhagen Business School without the GMAT being requried)
However I was very good in my quantitative courses and after having a 4 month internship in a market research firm I was wondering if I should not focus more on "Big Data"/"Data Science" and do my Master in Statistics (also I am capable of some coding and I feel that the future job market will favor such a decision)
I
came across programmes at (usfca.edu/management/analytics/) University of San Francisco and (cdm.depaul.edu/academics/Pages/MS-In-Predictive-Analytics.aspx) DePaul.
However, I am not very good in evaluating these schools and whether the investment into the expensive US-education-system pays off at this schools. I looked for some opinions on yelp and was left with mixed feelings. Thus, I wanted to hear your opinions about this schools, and get your overall suggestions regarding my current situation!
How do you think about these schools?
What other schools can you recommend given my performance and internship experience.
Would you maybe even retake the GMAT once again and try to improve? I have the feeling that I am capable of scoring higher.
Thanks for taking your time to read through and have a great day!
All the best,
Skybrush
