Hi all,
Hope everybody is doing well.
I recently wrote GMAT and got 730 (Q49/V41). I am still waiting for AWA/IR score.
I am quite confused about the schools which I should target.
Request you guys to evaluate my profile and guide me:
GMAT : 730 (Q49/V41)
Nationality : Indian
Gender : Male
Graduation : Bachelor in Technology from a Central University (Non-IIT, ranked 21st in engineering in India)
Graduation GPA : 70.7 % in India (A as per WES conversion)
Age: 27
Work Experience : 60 months in a global IT MNC which has offices in 120 countries (IT..wish I could turn back time
)
International Exposure : 12 months (UK)
Extra Curriculum : Not much, average at best
I am more inclined towards one year MBA program though even two year's program is fine as long as I can I can get some financial assistance.
Any guidance is much appreciated.

Hi,
You have decent profile with solid GMAT and work experience with international exposure. You are at the right stage to apply for top b-schools but I am not clear on your post MBA career goals, which sector you want to get into. Your career goals are crucial in deciding the target b-schools. However you have fair chances for top 10 b-schools if your application essays/recos are outstanding. Also be specific on the geographic region which you are targeting like US, UK, Europe, Asia Pacific, India etc.,
Although your profile looks similar to the huge IT applicant pool, you need to balance your GMAT score and profile with stellar application essays/recos. So start your preparation at the earliest and dedicate more time to work on your application to make a strong case.

I am not looking for a career change. My career goals are just like the usual suspects i.e. Management/IT consulting.By the time join some MBA program in Fall 2014, I'll have 6 years of work experience.I believe that I will be able to leverage my experience post MBA.
Primarily I am looking for 1 year MBA so that I can be able to rejoin the workforce quickly. I am aware that there are many achievable schools in Europe for me. However, I am bit worried about getting post work visa post MBA.
I am also interested in two year MBA programs as long as I can get partial waiver/scholarship. I am aware that I don't have a stellar profile and hence top 10-20 schools will not offer any financial assistance.
Due to this reason, I am thinking of targeting schools where I have maximum chances of getting at least some scholarship.
