I agree that Top 5 are gonna be hard. HBS takes like 2 people every year that have less than a 3.0, and they have something SPECIAL. Top 10 may be possible if your work experience is exceptionally strong and you have good extras, otherwise, a good solid Top 20 should be within reach.

Yale likes higher GPA's, but you have a shot at the other 4.

Hello,

Thanks for all replies. And one more question. If I decide to defer my application to next year, which option is better to counter my low GPA:

1) Get CFA Level 1
2) Enroll in a graded, 1-year MS program and achieve a good GPA
