Hi everyone!
I am looking to apply for a full time mba program for the fall of 2015, but am undecided as to where to look.
Some background about myself: I got a 700 on the GMAT and received a BFA in Stage and Production Management in May 2013 (at a liberal arts college in Boston) with a GPA of 3.92 on a 4-point scale (in the honors program).
Geographically I would like to stay on the east coast, preferably New England - I would consider eastern Canada as well. Ideally, I would like to go to a school where I may have a chance of receiving a scholarship, but with an arts background I realize that may not be plausible.
In college I interned in the Stage Management departments of several regional theaters (union and non-union) as well as in the Executive department of the Boston Ballet. Since I graduated in May, I have been working as a project assistant (mostly doing market research and analysis) for a nonprofit research and consulting firm. By the time I go to business school in the fall of 2015, I will have had 2.5 years of work experience (not counting internships in college).
In an ideal world, I would go to a top 20 school, but I would like to be realistic. I would like to go to a school that would appreciate my background in the arts/nonprofit industries, and where I would be able to use that experience to my advantage.
I would love to hear any input that any of you might have.
Thank you!
