Unfortunately, my schedule didn't allow for the DAK attendance.

It's sort of funny, I went to Stern so I feel you hard on the "get away from Finance people" bit. Before visiting Booth, it's finance reputation had me a bit apprehensive about the school in general as I'm sure you can relate. Surprisingly though after talking with many kids there, I left without that impression at all. I actually had a rather positive "gut feeling" about booth despite it's reputation.

@Asimov
Your post is rather interesting. Perhaps I'm too worried about MBB placement and don't realize that other jobs, such as one at Deloitte, may actually help me with my debt a lot faster. The fact that they offer one year tuition reimbursement is nothing short of phenomenal (I wouldn't be a returning consultant thus wouldn't be eligible for the 2-year reimbursement).

Asimov, I wanted to ask you, did most of your colleagues end up working in the South? I don't foresee myself setting up shop and starting a family down south if I'm being honest with myself and am worried that I might find NE/MW job opportunities lacking, at least relatively speaking.

There are more classmates ending up in the South and Mid-Atlantic than NE and MW. But I think there is some self-selection that goes into the statistics. For example, if I wanted to be in the NE or MW, there are comparable schools in those locations, so a candidate may choose to apply and go to those schools instead. That said, I do think Kellogg/Booth offers a stronger connection in MW. However, I’m not sure if the stronger connection is enough to overcome the monetary difference you are looking at. This is especially true for if you are thinking about Deloitte. Deloitte REALLY likes Fuqua for the culture fit, and Fuqua’s approach to cases. It’s illustrated by Fuqua’s strong showings at the Deloitte Case Competition, which is school blind in judging. Fuqua won 2 out of the last 4 years (https://uscpp.deloitte.com/mbaWeb/gener ...
