All,
I am just asking some general advice about which school to choose. My employer is willing to pay for me to get my advanced business degree, so I am stuck at a bit of an impasse.
I work in Indianapolis and plan on continuing to live here for the foreseeable future. I went to Kelley for undergrad, and when to law school soon thereafter. I have decided I want to lateral into marketing. This is a difficult move for someone in legal, but it truly is my passion (undergrad was in marketing).
Choices:
Butler MBA -
Advantages:
Employer will definitely cover the ENTIRE cost
Very close to my home
In-person
Don't Have to take GMAT - (J.D. works for admission)
Seems to have a good reputation in Indy
Disadvantages:
Lower Ranked
Would be generalized - MBA in Marketing would take significantly longer
Not nationally recognized
Would take longer - 3-4 years
Kelley MS in Marketing-
Advantages:
Much better school
Nationally recognized
Shorter 2-3 years
Disadvantages:
Online
More expensive (employer may not cover the whole thing)
Specialized - I would like to go into an executive position
Don't sh*t where you eat - I have a degree from Kelley - might be nice to get other perspective
Would have to take the GMAT
So - those are kind of my thoughts so far - I wanted to get the opinions of some others. Please let me know your thoughts!
Thanks
