Hello everyone,
I am an international student who is admitted to a Masters in Finance course at 3 universities: Maryland (Smith), Rutgers and Purdue (Krannert). I have 5 years of experience in Tech/IT companies and I am looking for a corporate finance job in Tech/IT sector in the US. Here is my assessment so far:
Maryland (Smith):
Pros - Best ranked school among the 3, good program esp for corp fin, good faculty, good exposure to companies in DC area
Cons - Expensive ($62000 tuition)
Rutgers Master of Financial Analysis:
Pros - Qualifies for STEM extension, proximity to NY, Slightly cheaper ($58000 tuition)
Cons - This program is only 2 years old, Curriculum largely based on CFA L1
Purdue (Krannert):
Pros - Cheapest ($48500 tuition - $7500 scholarship = $41000), curriculum better than Rutgers for corp fin
Cons - In the middle of nowhere hence relatively weaker in terms of exposure
Although this forum is primarily for MBA related discussions, I would like to hear your views for an MS(Fin) applicant. Thanks!
