Hi guys,
First post here, so apologies if MSc stuff doesn't belong here but I was hoping some of you could throw some advice my way.
I have offers for the MIF (International Finance) at HEC Paris and the MSc in Mathematics and Finance at Imperial, and am having some trouble choosing between them.
Looking to go into trading, and have a Mathematics undergrad. I really like the look of both courses, naturally HEC is a more rounded Finance programme whereas Imperial is more quantitative but neither would necessarily hold me back from going into anything particular. Key factors in my choices are:
-university prestige (difficult to say really, HEC has a great name in banking but isn't so globally known)
-course excellence (and course prestige)
-employment opps (Imperial has the fact it's in London but HEC seems to place a greater emphasis on its careers department)
-usefulness of the extra maths content at Imperial
May be forgetting some other big factors (the fee discrepancy isn't such an issue) so if you think there's something else I should be considering in my decision please let me know.
I'd be grateful for any input you may have,
Cheers
