Hi Everyone,
I need some kind help as I'm finding it difficult to come to a decision myself.
I have got admitted to HKUST full-time 16 month program with 30% merit scholarship. And I have secured a 60% merit scholarship from NTU-Waseda Double MBA as well.
Now I'm in a fix as to which school to attend.
A little background about myself. I have done my masters of Science in Computer sciences from NTU in 2013 and have been living and working in Singapore. I work in logistics and supply chain management for last 4 years. My post-MBA career goals are to move into consulting or finance.
Cost-wise NTU-Waseda seems a much better option, I might not even have to take up a loan. But HKUST is better in rankings and I will need to take up quite a bit loan for HKUST.
PS. I will have to take up 40K USD loan for HKUST versus maybe just 10K USD for NTU-Waseda.
Any suggestions as to what I should do and any advice on career prospects after graduating from both business schools?

HKUST is a pretty impressive school. Their professors, facilities, and program are ranked well and the best in HK. Pretty much all second-year students taking a second year first semester somewhere overseas. That's a great opportunity to travel though is a bit hard on recruiting and job logistics since you will have only 4 months after landing back in HK to land a job. The geography of employment based on the latest numbers seems to be 36% HK and 24% china - that's 60% of grads, which is good since 90% of students are international (it used to be 80% placement outside of HK).
Anyway, I am taking a while to make my point, while HKUST is the better school and I like HK better than Singapore (sorry), a lot is driven by potential employer outlook - it seems that a lot of the opportunities in Finance are in Singapore still. I have not been back to Hong Kong in a while but I can't see China making things better in the long term either. Are you looking to be in HK or China after graduation? If not, then NTU is probably going to make it easier to place in Singapore where you already have work authorization. What about HK- how easy is work permit there? Waseda is a cool idea but not sure how helpful it will be to study in Japan the last trimester when you need to be interviewing and looking for a job in Singapore. Do you have a connection with any current students to find out how it is really working out?
